WHAT IS CSS?
CSS stands for Comparison Shopping Service and is a website that displays product offers from online retailers and then sends users to the retailers’ websites to make a purchase.
LYST acts as a CSS through Google Shopping, which is available in the European economic area and Switzerland.
Within this service, CSSs (like LYST) place product ads on behalf of a merchant. Google Shopping CSS began in June 2017, when the European Commission antitrust fine opened the landscape for Google CSS to allow non-Google partners like LYST to run Google Shopping activity themselves.
This 1 minute video provided by Google helps to explain further how CSS functions.
HOW DOES IT WORK ON LYST?
LYST is a premium partner among many other CSSs in the marketplace and currently manages over 1,500 feeds with 98 million products for our partners. It places product offerings in front of potential customers when they search via engines such as Google, and then sends users to your site
to make a purchase.
Google matches search queries against product information. CSS isn’t keyword driven, meaning we’re able to match the right product, with the right person at the right time.
